Orlando is one of the favorite tourist spots in the world. Orlando is associated with Disneyland, Sea World and the Universal Studios. Aside from these attractions, there are also other tourist places where visitors frequent. These are water parks and ecological sites and parks.

The high demand for accommodation makes Orlando a site for vacation homes. More and more individuals engage in this business. Not only do they profit from the rentals but they also help in the economy of Orlando.

Orlando is visited all-year round. The most number of visitors arrive during the extreme seasons of summer and winter. During the summer season, the temperature of Orlando ranges from 70-92 degrees while in winter it ranges from 55-78 degrees. Compared with other American states, the weather in Orlando is humid to tropical. It is nice to stay in this state especially during winter season because you can still enjoy the beach. Being the sunshine state, it really holds true to its name.

Aside from the tourism, one of Orlando’s sources of economy is agriculture. The beautiful weather of Orlando makes the land fertile and produces citrus products such orange, grapefruits and sugar canes.

Visitors in Orlando do not only enjoy the sites and attractions but also the fruits which are harvested in their fields.

These days, a new trend is setting up in terms of the different accommodations in Orlando. Aside from the hotels, people tend to look for a bigger and wider area to temporarily live in. Visitors book for a vacation home when they go for holidays in Orlando.

Vacation home is a house being leased by certain individuals for a short period of time. Vacation homes can vary from 2-10 bedroom homes to villas to condominium to mountain lodges. Vacation home depends on what are the needs of the people who will rent the place.

There are certain reasons why staying in a vacation home is better than staying in a hotel. One, the size of the houses is bigger compared with the regular hotel rooms. With just a little amount added to the rate of hotel rooms, you can now avail of a house with more rooms and wider spaces. The amenities of a home like a kitchen, dining area, family room, laundry room and swimming pool can also be availed.

Second, staying in a vacation home is more convenient. You can choose for the vacation home nearer to the attractions that you like. You can even request for a house just beside the Disney or in front of a beach.

Third, flexibility of the amenities which make you move according to your needs. You can eat anytime without worrying of the breakfast hours or you can sleep as early or as late as you like.

Fourth is the price of the house. When renting a vacation home, you pay the package of the house. As long as you are within the limit of the occupants, you can stay all in the same house.

Fifth is the privacy of the place. All area within your rented premises is temporarily your property. Anything that you would like to do is okay as long as you don’t bother your neighbors. If you prefer to swim at midnight in your pool, you can do so. You don’t have to worry about limitations or swimming hours.

It is fun to stay in your own vacation home. You can enjoy activities such as barbeque party or swimming party with friends. You can also relax and not worry about cleaning because when you check out from the house, cleaners will take charge. In the morning when you wake up, you can either have your breakfast in the dining table or near the pool.

Holidays in an Orlando vacation home are always memorable vacations. You experience vacations where you focus on the things that you would like to experience and do. You really relax and not worry on minor details because you are assured that everything will be alright. Every day in an Orlando vacation home is a bright day. There is always sunshine that greats you in the morning when you wake up and a moon to guide you as you go to sleep.

Vegas, Vacations And Golf, Worry Free.

by Charles Davis

Planning a Las Vegas golf vacation? With just a little pre-planning, you can have that vacation, worry free. A few details handled before you leave can make a world of difference. You’ll have the time of your life, and only have to worry about your score.

First things first. Take a good hard look before selecting a golf package or a discount golf vacation. An abundance of courses means there’s plenty of places to play in Vegas, but they’re not all the same. Extra time spent reading reviews online, and making sure the place you’re staying or playing is reputable will be well worth your while.

If you’re on a budget, make sure you plan with some financial room to maneuver. Vegas makes it easy to spend your money, and it won’t always be worth it. A more basic golf package might make the difference between having a good time whatever comes along, and depending on the craps tables for your ticket home.

Some costs to consider might not be apparent at first glance. Standard expenses generally include caddies, gratuities, groceries, parking, and transportation to courses not on the resort. Make sure you budget some extra money for any expenses that might pop up.

Any golf outing requires packing a large amount of accessories, and many are only remembered after it is too late. Before you head to the airport make sure to pack things such as sunscreen, a hat, chapstick, band aids, sunglasses, and pain relievers. Leaving commonplace items such as these at home can have a big impact on your enjoyment of a round of golf.

Air travel today is notoriously difficult, and traveling with your golf clubs makes it that much tougher. This is especially true because airline baggage policies for golf clubs vary from airline to airline. Check online with your specific airline or airlines to make sure that you donat have to leave any equipment at the baggage check-in.

Finally, when you arrive in Vegas and check in at your hotel or resort make sure to check if the hotel is offering any upgrades. Sometimes all it takes to get a better room or a better deal is just to ask. Check online reviews at your resort for any upgrades that travelers before you were able to get.

Whether you’re travelling by yourself or with friends, it’s hard to go wrong with a golf package deal. But if you remember just a few basic things, there’s much less chance a little detail will make your trip a bad memory. Like many things in life, when it comes to golf in Vegas it pays to plan.

One of America’s top outdoor destinations and the country’s fifth largest city, it is not an accident that Phoenix is home to several of the best destination resorts located in the United States. Explore desert parks and lakes, tour archaeology ruins and historic gold mining towns, or visit one of the many the museums and state-of-the-art sporting facilities.

From Surprise to Apache Junction, the twenty distinct communities that make up the greater Phoenix area offer visitors everything from the slow-paced rural southwest to a bustling college atmosphere. Whether your interest is sports or archaeology, history or hiking, biking, horseback riding, or bird watching Phoenix offers something for everyone not wanting to venture beyond the Valley of the Sun.

Enjoy hiking, biking and horseback riding at the many area parks such as South Mountain, McDowell or Papago. And if quintessential southwest is your goal, explore Hohokam Indian ruins and participate in a simulated excavation at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center or pan for gold and tour a gold mine in Goldfield Ghost Town.

On the chance that it does rain or the kids simply need a break from the great outdoors, take advantage of Valley’s cultural side. Children of all ages will enjoy exploring a re-created Zuni Pueblo and participating in hands-on activities at the Heard Museum, discovering science and technology at the Arizona Science Center, or taking in a performance at one of the children’s theaters, Childsplay or Valley Youth Theatre.

While you will need to do a fair bit of planning if you intend to take advantage of the many activities unique to Phoenix, there is no need to venture very far. Many child-friendly activities are less than an hour’s drive from anywhere in the Valley.

So if you are looking to escape the bitter cold of winter or an overcast rainy spring, plan a trip to Phoenix and once you’ve pulled your kids away from the numerous activities offered at your destination resort, explore a few of the many fun things to see and do in the Valley of the Sun.

Three Great Alternative Vacations

Posted: under Travel.
Tags: Travel

by katie George

Ready to consider alternative vacations - something a bit out of the ordinary? Maybe you don’t want another trip to an amusement park, week at the beach or ocean cruise. Try one of the following instead.

Monastery Vacations

There are monasteries, spiritual centers and retreats all over the country that will rent you a room. Some require that you participate in certain activities or events, or help in daily chores, while others require nothing of you. Some are very inexpensive, others expensive, and some just ask for a donation. You do not need to share in their beliefs to stay at these places.

I stayed at a Zen center in upstate New York a few years ago. For less than $20, I had a simple bed in a plain room. Two meals daily were included, and there was a good library and a hot tub. During the day I walked the trails on the property to sit by the pond, or to collect butternuts on a hill overlooking a valley. It was very relaxing.

If you want a peaceful vacation, these are the places to look for. They are usually quiet, and in beautiful settings. Whether a monastery full of catholic monks, or a Hindu meditation center, most of them now have web sites, so you can find them online.

House Sitting Vacations

There are always people looking for others to stay in their houses, water the plants, and keep an eye on things. Look for these care taking jobs online or in one of the few newsletters that have listings of this sort. Sometimes you can get a house on a lake for a month, and occasionally you can even get paid for your services.

Locations include every part of the United States and most other countries. If you have any experience with house sitting or care taking it can help. Get letters of reference from those who you do house-sit for, so you’ll have a better chance at getting the next position.

How much of a vacation this is will depend on how much work the owners require in exchange for the use of their home, of course. It definitely is a cheaper alternative than most vacations.

Outdoor Vacation Alternatives

An outdoor vacation doesn’t necessarily mean backpacking or hunting. Friends of mine recently took part in a week-long bicycle tour in Michigan, for example. These tours take place in many areas, or can be done anywhere if you want to do your own arranging. They can include camping, or a stay at a nice hotel each night.

Another outdoor vacation that can be done in comfort is hiking hut-to-hut in the mountains. Although there are some places in the United States where this can be done, it is much more common in Europe. No tent or sleeping bag is necessary. You hike a few hours from one hut to the next, through beautiful mountains. Food, wine, beds and bedding are available at each hut.

Florida, the sunshine state, is known for a good reason; the sun never disappoints you at any given time of the year and that is the main reason why many migrate to this state in the cold winter months. But, if you want to know how to get the best deal of staying in Orlando during the winter while not having to spend a fortune in the process, the answer is simple, get an Orlando vacation home.

Why Choose Orlando?

Florida holds many attractions out of which one of it’s biggest is the Walt Disney World situated in Orlando. This attraction alone brings millions of people from around the world year round to vacation in the magic land of Walt Disney World due to which any property in Orlando is considered an absolute fabulous investment.

Besides Walt Disney, there are many other attractions, which involve the adults as well (not that adults don’t enjoy the world of Walt Disney) such as golf, Sea World of Florida, Parks and Museums. Acquiring an Orlando vacation home is a wise investment that will reward you year round.

You can use your Orlando vacation home when you desire in the winter months and the rest of the year you can hire it and, thus, have your property pay you for vacationing as well as for its own maintenance and taxes.

Renting An Orlando Vacation Home

If you don’t choose to invest in purchasing a vacation home you can always rent one whenever you desire. There are two ways to rent an Orlando vacations home and they are: through time-sharing or just for the time you desire. If you choose to hire a vacation home through time-sharing again, you will have to make an initial investment and then work out the dates when you want to spend time in your Orlando vacation home with the person with whom you just brought the home.

However, if you want to hire a vacation home only when you desire then you will need to approach a travel agent who will help you find the best available bargain for you and your budget.

Helpful Tip

If you are planning to spend more than couple of months every year in Orlando, the best way to is to invest in either a time-sharing vacation home or purchase a property that you can hire when not in use and if you are not sure when or how long you are going to spend each year in Orlando then you may want to consider hiring for the limited period you visit only, in order to save yourself money and time.

Advice for Renting a Menorca Holiday Home

Posted: under Travel.
Tags: Travel

by Mary Bush

The Island of Menorca is the furthest east of the Balearic Islands, which are located off the coast of Spain. Certainly, for families the many Menorca holiday homes are ideal if you are looking to get away and relax. Many of these homes are in fact located close to some of the least crowded and most un-spoilt beaches in this part of Europe.

Along with spending time on the beaches soaking up the sun during your stay there are plenty of activities to keep one occupied. However, this is not the ideal location to visit if you are looking for a holiday that is full of sightseeing activities. This is more a holiday for those who just want to relax and unwind and forget about things back home for a while.

However, there are certain attractions that you and your family members may enjoy visiting whilst staying on the island. Below we take a look at just what some of the main attractions being offered on the Island of Menorca.

1. Xoriguer Distillery - This particular attraction is located on the harbor front of the town of Mahon (Menorca’s Capital) and is a place that the adults will enjoy. Spend time wandering through the facility on one of the guided tours and then sampling a few of the products, which are made there including Menorca gin at the end.

2. Cales Coves - These are located seven miles from Mahon and can be easily reached on one of the many buses that head out towards them. Here you have the chance to explore these ancient burial chambers either with a tour guide or on your own but you will need to take a flashlight with you.

3. ES Freginal Park - Located in the very heart of Mahon this park offers plenty of space for you and the kids to enjoy. Moreover, it is here on the stage that the annual Summer Jazz Festival takes place as well.

4. Los Delfines Aquapark - If you are looking for a way to get rid of some excess energy then a visit to this attraction is a must for the whole family. It is located in 12,500 metres of land and has numerous different water activities that the whole family can enjoy. As well as Adventure River, the Giant Toboggan and Hydrotubes for those who are feeling that little more adventurous then a go on the Black Hole should not be missed.

Above we have looked at the main attractions that can be found on this island and which have been enjoyed by those who have already spent time there. When it comes to booking your Menorca holiday homes vacation it is a good idea to try to book as far in advance of your dates as possible, to ensure you get exactly what you want.

Holiday Shopping During Your Asian Holiday

Posted: under Travel.

by Mary Bush

While there is no foolproof method of eluding thieves, the information below may help reduce the possibility of your becoming a victim:

1. Before leaving the house, think about ways to protect yourself. Think about where you want to carry your money, credit cards and identification. Don’t take valuable jewelry and watches with you. Separate valuables - don’t put all your money in one place.

2. Reduce the possibility of becoming a victim by securing valuables in a waist belt or pouch covered by a shirt sweater or coat. NEVER FLASH MONEY AROUND.

3. Don’t make it easy for the thief - don’t carry large amounts of money in easily accessible jacket pockets or purses. Don’t use a wallet. Use your front pants pockets and inside shirt pockets for your money and other valuables. Placing valuables in a purse around your neck or shoulder and secured inside a shirt sweater or jacket is a useful habit to get into. Waist packs are better than purses or handbags, but they should also be hidden under a shirt or coat.

4. Never advertise your intention to spend a large amount of money.

5. Avoid shopping alone. Awareness of your surroundings and advanced planning are your best weapons for defending against thieves.

6. Always be aware of your surroundings. Look at people near you and watch for “accidental” nudging and touching.

7. Do not carry anything in your wallet or purse that you are not willing to lose. Most shopping in Asia is done on a cash and carry basis; leave unneeded credit cards and your passport in a safe place. Carry a photocopy of the ID portion of your passport. Your ID card and drivers license is replaceable; family photographs and other personal items may not be as easy to replace. Remember, carry only what you are going to need for your outing.

The precautions listed above can help make you a harder target. Terrorists and criminals look for the easy target - the path of least resistance. By making yourself a difficult target you can help ensure your own safety and that of your family. Please remember that thinking about what to do in an emergency is not as frightening as not knowing what to do when faced with an actual emergency.

Egypt Tours: Luxury Cruises in the Nile, Red Sea and Lake Nasser

Posted: under Travel.

by Andrew Muigai

While on your Egypt vacation, there are several interesting activities you can undertake. Among these are luxury Nile cruises, or cruises in the the Red sea and Lake Nasser. River Nile has, since the time of the Egyptian pharaohs, won the admiration of many people, more so visitors seeking the ideal Egypt holidays.

The captivating landscape of the Nile valley adds great value to the nile cruise, allowing you to enjoy the best of the Nile while sampling the rich Egyptian cuisine. A typical nile cruise starts from either Luxor or Aswan, lasting either three nights, four nights, or seven nights. There are however shorter trips between Aswan and Luxor that take only a few hours.

Nile cruisers are the boats that people use for the Nile cruises. Commonly known as floating hotels, the cruisers have most of the amenities of land based hotels, including nice restaurants, nightclubs, swimming pools, hot water tubs, exercise rooms/ gymnasiums, and small libraries. Though most cruisers operate all the year round, the best time for an Egypt nile cruise is the period between October and mid April when the weather is fairly cool.

The Red Sea is the other fascinating destination for Egypt vacations. Over many centuries, the Red Sea - situated between Asia and Africa - has served as an important link between the East and the West. Every year, many people visit the Red Sea coast while on holiday in Egypt, among them thousands of scuba divers from all over the world.

The Red Sea’s coast stretches from the Gulf of Suez to the Sudanese boarder. The sea’s mineral-rich red mountain ranges inspired travelers of ancient times to name the sea Mare Rostrum, meaning the Red Sea. Thousands of migrating birds find themselves at the shores of the Red Sea throughout the year making it a paradise for birding enthusiasts. Red Sea has over 800 fish species, among them the deadly stone-fish and butterfly-fish.

A cruise on Lake Nasser represents an extension to a Nile Cruise adventure or any other holiday in Egypt. Lake Nasser is the world’s largest man-made lake offering you the opportunity to sail over the tranquil waters aboard luxurious vessels. Lake Nasser was created in the 1960s when the world famous High Dam was built and it is approximately 498.9km in length and a depth of up to 600 feet. The lake is named after Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was president of Egypt between 1956-1970.

Among the attractions around Lake Nasser, the two temples at Abu Simbel rank alongside the great pyramids at Giza as Egypt’s top attractions. Apart from just being historic sites, the Abu Simbel temples represent one of the greatest engineering feats of modern days. The two temples were relocated from their original site during the construction of Aswan high dam, to protect them from submerging in the lake that formed.

In addition to the Abu Simbel temples, lake Nasser is one of the best spot in the world for freshwater fishing. Both the Nile perch and the tiger fish abound in the lake.

Getting to Egypt and traveling within the country is relatively easy by flight. EgyptAir is one of the several airlines that operate flights to Egypt. Most international flights to Egypt land at the Cairo International Airport, while others arrive at the Sharm el Sheik airport. While a self explanatory map of Egypt is available, you may require a tour guide to help you move around and explore the country.

When’s A Good Time to Travel?

Posted: under Travel.
Tags: Travel

by Toni Isanetti

One thing that many people do over the holidays is trying to plan a great outdoor vacation! If they can’t plan a great one, then many people will travel to a specific place; such as a mountain for climbing up it.

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you will still have to focus on safety, at all times! In fact, safety is the most important thing when rock/mountain climbing. Whether you know it or not, but safety begins the moment you leave home. One of the best ways to show your using safety is by telling people where you’re going, what you’ll be doing as well as for how long. If you run late, try calling them to let them know.

When climbing, the first thing that many instructors will tell you is to never climb alone. Also, you should always have a positive attitude. In fact, people that have macho displays are those they most likely end up with an injury! No matter if you have a well secured rope; it will not stop you from getting a cracked kneecap, pulled tendon, or even a possible head trauma!

Along with having safety, you should also have awareness. Staying alert to your gear, environment as well as your body is the key. Not only does the environment contain the mountain and the route, but it also controls the weather and other factors. In fact, staying awake and alert will make a serious situation into a mere story.

Communication is also very important; whether it is visual or spoken. In fact, it lets everyone know what you are doing as well as planning on doing. You will have to watch to make sure that what they say and do is the same thing!

An important factor when dealing with safety is making sure that your body is in shape. Climbing is very strenuous on the body; therefore, you must be in shape as well as illness and injury free. You must also have the proper body strength.

When going climbing you must always know what you are going up against. In fact, assessing the mountain is one thing you will learn how to do over time; that is why for beginners it would be safer going with a professional or experienced climber. Also, you must be able to make sure that you are taking the safest possible route. Many experienced climbers get “instincts” over the years as to what is safe and not safe.

Along with all the safety issues, you must know how to use all the gear as well as taking care of it all. However, if you don’t know one thing, you will not do well as a climber! You must first practice, not matter how long it takes you to learn it; as it may be fatal otherwise!
